XL Numerics Chart Clinic

If you need to present some data in a way that immediately conveys your message, we can usually give you some practical suggestions on making your presentation more memorable and persuasive.

At XL Numerics, we support our clients by operating a Chart Clinic to help you transform financial and statistical data into graphs, tables and figures that people readily understand.

We can also take the pain out of producing graphics by showing you a more structured way to do it that is faster, simpler and hence less costly to your organisation.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Email us your data and your current chart (if you’re using one)
  2. Tell us what message(s) you need to get across
  3. Tell us where the chart is to be used; e.g. web, desktop spreadsheet, annual report, Powerpoint presentation etc.
  4. We’ll follow up for a brief discussion with you by email/phone if required, and we’ll provide a fixed price quotation for completing the work
  5. We’ll develop one or more prototype chart(s) for you
  6. For your selected prototype, we’ll build a template that you can use in your organisation, and link it to your data source.

OUR SECURITY GUARANTEE:  We guarantee to destroy copies of all data that you provide to us, and keep confidential any corporate material that you release to us while developing your new charts.

OUR ON TIME PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE:  When we commit to delivering you a chart in a given timeframe, we WILL deliver it on-time.

For an investment company, we transformed a bland, relatively uninformative pie chart

into a structured, practical tool for advisors and clients who can instantly see the results of various portfolio options.

For an insurance group, we started with their data and a somewhat confusing multiple column chart

to produce a set of charts that show each statistic very clearly

and also illustrate cross-tabulations and trends
directly from the data.

A training company wanted to look at the distribution of
skills in delegates to a course.  We improved their bar chart

to produce a more informative picture that immediately shows
the visual grouping of important scores, and provides a sound basis
for planning group activities.
